Prof. Milind Atrey is currently the Deputy Director (Academics, Research & Translation) at IIT Bombay and also holds  the INOX Chair Professor of Cryogenics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He has previously served as the Dean (R&D) of IIT Bombay for over four years and as the Professor-in-Charge of SINE (Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), the Institute’s business incubator, for more than six years. Prof. Atrey also serves as the President of the Institute Innovation Council (IIC) at IIT Bombay. He is presently the Chairman of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Council of Discovery Partners Institute of University of Illinois system ( which comprises of more than 25 universities all across the world).  He was instrumental in starting of the Desai-Sethi school for entrepreneurship (DSSE)  at IIT Bombay which gives Minor BTech and PhD in Entrepreneurship at IIT Bombay. Prof Atrey  is the Co-Founder of two start-ups and holds several patents and more than  200 research publications.
